We provide a safe and nurturing process and environment for a young person to gain an education with a holistic and individualised approach. Our focus will always be to ensure the wishes and feelings of the young person are paramount in everything we do. All interventions will be always based on the best interests of the young person.
The main focus of the provision will be based under health, and well-being. With an additional commitment to functional skills in maths and English.
What Kindre will offer.
A) Holistic therapies, mindfulness, meditation, reiki therapy. Creating a holistic approach to learning, creating a calm and peaceful environment. Kindre will access qualified professionals to provide treatments as identified on the individuals assessment, this will be timetabled into the school day.
B) Health and wellbeing, self-esteem, healthy relationships, life skills, self-defence, support to engage in services such as anti-natal classes and midwife appointments, new era and glow and to engage with local authority and police to build trusting relationship should they require that support. These sessions will be offered by accessing relevant services and using family hubs, charities and youth projects as well in school sessions. Timetabled into the school day.
C) Sexual health, sexual health sessions, contraception, healthy relationships. We will hold a C card on site. Staff will have completed sexual health awareness training aimed at staff working with young people. Staff will, have good knowledge around sex and relations and the appropriate laws on sex and relationships and will know how to refer to services. Sessions will be targeted at meeting individual needs within the school.
D) Life skills including budgeting, benefits, benefit advice from an advisor from universal credits. Nutrition and diet lessons. Travelling on public transport. These sessions will be a mixture of in house learning and accessing professionals to offer relevant training and support. Most of the sessions offered under this heading will include a lot of functional skill development.
E) Art classes.
F) Functional skills, provided by an inhouse tutor. We will only offer maths and English.
Additionally.
We will initially complete a comprehensive assessment of each individual that will identify the needs and any relationship support that maybe required at home if this is relevant.
The at-risk teenagers would be offered a year programme, then 4 months support whilst integrating back into mainstream education.
We will have close working relationships with the family hub facilities and local CIC and charities that provide specific services that will meet individual needs.
